Jamiat Ulema Islam (JUI) chief Maulana Fazlur Rehman has opposed military operation, saying it will cause ‘destabilization’.
He said since the constitution gives powers to all the provinces and determines the domain of each institution, why the establishment is adamant on supremacy.
“We have a 300-year anti-slavery history," he said, adding that more than 50,000 Mujahideen were hanged for defying slavery.
He continued: “How will we accept the slavery of the generals?
"There is no state writ in the country.
"In KP, the police stations close at night.
"All these are the results of military operations."
