President Asif Ali Zardari has said peace will be maintained at all costs.
Addressing a meeting on law and order in Sukkur, he said the police and other agencies are working to maintain peace across the country.
“We will take all possible steps for a prosperous Pakistan,” he said, adding that challenging the state writ is intolerable.”
Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi, Sindh CM Murad Ali Shah, police big guns, and senior officials were present.
The president was apprised of the steps to maintain peace and the Kacha operation.
Bandits have been troubling the people in the areas, the president was told. The meeting was briefed that the targeted operation did not achieve the desired results and there was a need to launch a coordinated operation to clear the areas of bandits.
Kashmore, Kandhkot, Shikarpur, Sukkur and Ghotki districts will have to cordon off to restore peace.
Police and Rangers have made every possible effort to provide the people with security, the president was apprised.
The meeting stressed the need to complete the project of constructing a bridge between the Ghotki and Karampur. It is also important to end the conflicts between different tribes before the operation. The tribal chieftains should come forward for peace
The president passed orders to complete the construction of the Ghotki and Karampur Bridge at the earliest.
He said Sukkur Barrage is a valuable asset and efforts must be intensified to restore the barrage and make it safe. Laxity will be unacceptable, the president stressed.
