Fashion designer Maria Butt, commonly known as Maria B, has come forward with another video to clear up the controversy over her video circulating on different social media platforms over the arrest of her husband Tahir Saeed in connection with an alleged coronavirus case.
She thanked Prime Minister Imran Khan and the Pakistan Army in the video for intervening in the matter. “I didn't think anyone would understand my suffering,” she said.

Her husband, Tahir, then clarified that the Punjab Police persecuted the family unfairly for lack of information of its own. He said the police were at their home making a ruckus and attempting to break in.
The couple clarified that they did not complain about how they were handled as “they were under no illusions about what the police of the country were like” and discussed in depth how the whole incident resulted from a miscommunication between government officials.
They said they had taken all protective steps and assured their chef, who had to obey strictly provided instructions about quarantine after much family deliberation on whether they should send him home or not.
“What else were we to do? Servants are not slaves. We have children at home too. We took the best decision we could after the authorities failed to handle the situation and left us no choice by leaving us in the dark.”
The designer also presented Tahir’s test report declaring him free of coronavirus and said that her whole family had tested negative.
Earlier, Punjab Police dismissed allegation made by Maria B and registered a case against her husband for sending their chef, who tested positive for coronavirus, to his native village without informing the authorities.
An FIR was also registered against Maria B’s husband Tahir Saeed for hiding the case.
As per the FIR, which does not name Maria B, despite knowing that the employee had tested positive for the virus, Saeed neither informed the authorities nor took him to a hospital for treatment. Instead, the employee was sent to his native village in a bus.
Meanwhile, in a video circulating on social media, appealing to Prime Minister Imran Khan, Maria B said that her house was raided by police personnel “as if I was the biggest drug mafia don in Lahore, with guns.”
She said that her husband was taken away and he was told that a first information report (FIR) was registered against him. She said the FIR was registered in the absence of a lawyer and that the police had taken the step at 12:30am.
“They did this in the middle of the night. Why? And the way they were rude to us. They wouldn't listen, they kept saying to us, to me that you, you are culprits. Why?
“We're the ones who are suffering. We're the ones whose tests are coming, anytime positive. My entire family and we're the ones who are culprits, who need to be arrested by you guys, really? Is this the system that we have in Punjab?”
