At a time when the Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf (PTI) government is confronted with the opposition’s no-confidence motion, keeping its allied parties on board is not the only priority for the ruling party, but at the same time defections by its own members of the National Assembly (MNAs) has made the situation more worrying, reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Friday.
One such MNA is Sardar Riaz Mehmood Khan Mazari, who has complained that no effort has been made by the party’s high-command to allay his concerns.
He has said that his decision to vote for or against the no-trust motion will depend on what the people of his constituency say.
He, however, made it clear that he had no other issues with his party. “All I and Amjad Farooq Khosa want is peace and the provision of water and gas to the people of our constituencies,” he said, and added, “Despite the fact that I have met with Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) President Shehbaz Sharif, I have still to decide about my political future.”
Mazari further said that it had been a year since he had met Prime Minister Imran Khan and Punjab Chief Minister Sardar Usman Buzdar. “The problem is we are not being given respect,” the ‘estranged’ PTI MNA said.
On the other hand, another PTI MNA Ahmed Hussain Dehar, who has been in the news for the last several days due to his ‘differences’ with the party leadership has said that he has forwarded his demands to the prime minister but is still a PTI member and will vote against the no-trust motion.
“I have met with the prime minister. There are some issues which the government is trying to resolve,” he has added.
