Gone are the days when cash and gold ornaments were gifted to guests at a wedding ceremony as nowadays these have been replaced by weapons, reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Friday.
However, one such brazen display of weapons proved costly for a groom in village Domala of Narowal as he had to spend first night of his marriage (Suhag Raat) in jail.
Police said that a marriage party was given a salute with automatic weapons on arrival by the family members and relatives of a bride.
Not only that, these weapons were also gifted to him, the videos of which went viral on social media, the Force said.
Taking notice of that, police took groom Muhammad Adeel into custody and registered a case against him besides recovering the weapons gifted to him by his in-laws.
DPO Kamran Mumtaz has said that indiscriminate action will be taken against those violating the laws.
