A Pakistan International Airlines flight from Jeddah to Karachi has been diverted to Lahore on Saturday, reported the 24NewsHD TV channel.

Flight PK-806 was scheduled to depart from Jeddah to Karachi at 5:40 pm Saudi time. However, an hour before departure, it was announced that the flight will be landed in Lahore instead of Karachi.

According to the sources, the Airbus 320 is carrying more than 150 Umrah pilgrims bound for Karachi. Now, they are worried due to the sudden diversion of the flight. The passengers travelling from Jeddah to Karachi were given two options either to be accommodated on the flight to Lahore and after landing in Lahore, it is being indicated that the passenger will be taken to Karachi by another domestic flight on Sunday morning.

In another option, passengers were asked by the PIA staff to wait for the direct flight to Karachi at 12 pm on Sunday otherwise.

At Jeddah Airport, the passengers of PIA's Multan and Quetta are also facing more or less the same situation.

It is pertinent that Pakistani passengers prefer national airlines over other airlines for performing Hajj and Umrah. But the indifferent attitude of PIA is beyond their understanding.
