Pakistani singer-turned-actor Haroon Shahid has appeared on Nadia Khan’s Ramadan transmission, where he revealed that in his debut movie Verna, the first choice for the female lead had been none other than Bollywood diva Kareena Kapoor.
In a candid chat with the host, Haroon remembered that Shoaib Mansoor, the director, had mentioned to him that Kareena would star in the movie, so he quickly agreed to the offer.
Unfortunately, Haroon's dreams of teaming up with such a famous personality were crushed when Kareena became unavailable.
“Kareena was supposed to be in the film, but then she was expecting her first child when Verna would have been in its production phase, so she couldn’t travel and Mahira Khan was later roped in for the role.”
However, social media users are finding it hard to accept this declaration and have flooded the comment section with sarcastic remarks.
It's worth noting that the actor also entered the acting scene through "Verna." He transitioned from being a musician to an actor with this movie. He has openly discussed his uncertain start in acting, confessing that he lacked fundamental filming knowledge during his time on the set of Verna. Subsequently, he honed his acting skills through other projects.
In 2017, "Verna" hit the screens with Mahira Khan in the lead role. The movie delves into a somber narrative, following a woman's quest for justice after facing rape and abduction, and the impact it has on her relationships.
