National Electricity Power Regulatory Authority (NEPRA) released its distribution companies’ Performance Evaluation Report 2019-20 on Tuesday.
According to 24NewsHD TV Channel, the report showed poor performance of all electricity distribution companies as they had failed in the recovery of Rs160 billion.
These companies remained failed to control load shedding despite the fact of heaving the load of electricity in their regions.
During the fiscal year 2019-20, the report said the companies did not provide electricity connections to the consumers and deprived them of their rights.
GEPCO, FESCO, QESKO and SEPCO remained totally failed to provide new connections to the consumers. They did also not remove electricity-related complaints of the consumers.
As many as Rs59 billion were lost by the reason of land losses and except Gujranwala and Faisalabad, all other companies failed in this regard.
The report also disclosed that the electricity distributing companies did not take measures to protect their employees resultantly, 160 severe accidents occurred in 2019-20.
In the report, NEPRA also said that the companies were involved in providing wrong data about their efficiency.
