Educational institutes to remain closed

Authorities have announced that public and private educational institutes will remain closed in twin cities of Islamabad and Rawalpindi tomorrow (Thursday) to avert any eventuality.

The Office of Deputy Commissioner Rawalpindi made an announcement, saying the closure of the public and private educational institutions in the city on 26 May due to the prevailing law and order issues.

The Private Schools Association also announced the closure of institutes to avert any eventuality in wake of the PTI protest in the federal capital.

The decision was taken by the Private Schools Association keeping in view the current situation.

“We have decided to close schools in urban areas on Thursday, Private Schools Association Secretary Waheed Khan said, adding that the safety of children is the top priority.

If the situation stays on, online classes can be commenced on Friday, he said.

The Federal Directorate of Education (FDE) announced early summer vacation in all private and public Islamabad’s primary schools.

 “There shall be no classes for all students from Montessori-V w.e.f May 16,” states the notification issued by the FDE.
