Jamaat-e-Islami Amir Siraj-ul-Haq on Friday denounced the prevailing system in Pakistan, claiming it to be a continuation of the British-era governance, reported the 24NewsHD TV channel.

Addressing a gathering in Chiniot, he criticized the mainstream political parties and military-led administrations, asserting that there is little difference between them.

Siraj Ul Haq said that the ruling elite has plundered resources and undermined institutions for the last 76 years, leading to their deterioration.

He asserted that the rulers, in the guise of loans, have subjected the nation to the servitude of international financial institutions like the International Monetary Fund (IMF).

Haq urged the people to reclaim their power through the ballot, suggesting that the democratic process could dismantle the entrenched system.

Siraj ul Haq said that the people should wage Jihad against corruption and injustice through democratic means.

Expressing concern over the plight of Palestinian children, Haq criticized Muslim rulers for their perceived inaction against the atrocities in Palestine.
