In a weird incident in Sarai Alamgir, the closure of all three bridges over the Jhelum River for the fourth consecutive day on Monday forced a groom and his wedding procession to cross the river on foot.

According to 24NewsHD TV channel, the government has created a number of hurdles in the way of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf activists intending to reach Islamabad to register their protest.  The hindrances created problems not only for the PTI workers but also for others.

One such victim of these hindrances was a wedding procession, en route from Jhelum to Gujrat, which had no choice but to walk across a railway track to reach its destination, as traffic remained entirely blocked.

The situation arose due to ongoing restrictions, including heavy police deployment in the area and no alternative routes.

Stranded residents and travelers faced severe difficulties, resorting to walking along railway tracks, and even pushing motorcycles across to navigate the blocked crossings.

Local authorities have yet to provide clarity on the reopening of the bridges, leaving commuters and locals grappling with daily challenges.
