President of Pakistan Dr Arif Hussain Alvi on Tuesday visited the residence of senior journalist Arshad Sharif, who was shot dead by Kenyan police in a case of ‘mistaken identity.’
President’s wife Begum Samina Arif Alvi also accompanied him.
Dr Alvi expressed his condolence to the mother of the martyr and other family members. He shared his grief and prayed for forgiveness for the deceased.

The president said he was deeply saddened and aggrieved over the death of Arshad Sharif. He said the services of Arshad Sharif for independent journalism and freedom of the press will always be remembered.
He said the late Arshad Sharif used to fearlessly express his opinion with research and facts.
The President also recited Fatiha for Arshad Sharif on the occasion.
May Allah bless the departed soul with eternal peace and give courage to his family members to bear this irreparable loss, he added.
