Punjab Chief Minister Mohsin Naqvi has announced to establish ‘Jinnah Institute of Cardiology’ in Jinnah Hospital in place of the newly constructed trauma center, aimed at providing cardiovascular treatment facilities to the patients.
According to the 24NewsHD TV channel, Mohsin Naqvi presided over a high-level meeting at Jinnah Hospital Lahore held on Tuesday.
The meeting approved to build a heart hospital instead of a trauma center in the hospital.
According to the plan announced by the CM, the proposed trauma center will be relocated to Jinnah Hospital, ensuring that emergency medical services remain accessible to those in need.
The Chief Minister also requested a detailed design and a comprehensive plan for the state-of-the-art cardiology institute from the concerned officials.
Chief Minister Mohsin Naqvi's directive to immediately settle matters related to the construction of the institute.
In this regard, a meeting of the Jinnah Hospital Board has also been called on October 28 to take the members on board.
Chief Minister Mohsin Naqvi also formed a 7-member committee headed by Prof. Dr. Farqad Alamgir.
During his visit to the hospital, Chief Minister Mohsin Naqvi took time to personally meet patients undergoing treatment.
He interacted with senior journalist Azam Malik, who is under medical care, and an injured polio worker, inquiring about their well-being.
Furthermore, Chief Minister Mohsin Naqvi conducted a thorough review of the existing medical facilities at Jinnah Hospital, emphasizing the need for continuous improvement and state-of-the-art equipment to provide the best healthcare services to the citizens.
In an inspiring gesture, Chief Minister Mohsin Naqvi met with Ismatullah and Shahida, both recipients of life-saving kidney transplants under the Free Kidney Transplant Program.
He emphasized the government's commitment to providing quality healthcare by initiating this program at Jinnah Hospital.
During his interactions with patients, he also inquired about the costs of their treatment.
One patient, overwhelmed with gratitude, shared, "We did not spend even a single rupee on the transplant."
Provincial Ministers Dr. Javed Akram, Aamir Mir, Secretaries Health, Communications and Works, Special Secretary Health, Principal Allama Iqbal Medical College, MS Jinnah Hospital, and related officials were also present on the occasion.
