A court in Islamabad on Wednesday for the second time issued non-bailable arrest warrants for PTI stalwart Shahbaz Gill in the case of inciting people to rebellion, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.
However, citing the Supreme Court (SC) order, Additional Sessions Judge Tahir Abbas Sipra said that the apex court had directed that trial against Imad Yousaf, a co-accused in the case, be brought to a close.
Sipra ordered the SHO to arrest and produce Gill in the court whenever and wherever he was seen.
An additional district and sessions court in Islamabad had on July 26, 2023 declared PTI leader Shahbaz Gill an absconder following his constant failure to show up in a sedition case.
Additional Sessions Judge Tahir Abbas Sipra gave the ruling after the suspect failed to show up in court for a long time despite issuing summons to him multiple times.
The court had also directed the authorities concerned to paste notice of absconder at his Faisalabad residence.
Earlier on June 7, 2023, the court had for the first time issued non-bailable arrest warrants for Gill in the case.
