The Islamabad High Court (IHC) has directed the Executive Director of the Pakistan Institute of Medical Sciences (PIMS) to form a medical board for the health examination of PTI’s founding leader, Imran Khan.

The court also ordered that Imran Khan’s personal physician, Dr Faisal Sultan, should be included in the medical board, 24NewsHD TV Channel reported on Thursday.

The court instructed the Executive Director of PIMS to submit the medical board’s report to the IHC Registrar’s Office and send a copy of the court’s order to the Superintendent of Adiala Jail for compliance.

The decision was issued by Justice Miangul Hassan Aurangzeb, who ruled that the petition filed by the PTI founder had been resolved with directions.

The court’s order emphasised that Imran Khan, a 72-year-old former prime minister and an under-trial prisoner, should not face any security obstacles in Adiala Jail during his medical examination by a qualified doctor.

Imran Khan had filed a petition in the Islamabad High Court, requesting a medical examination by his personal doctors.
