Pakistani actress Naeema Butt, who is currently playing the negative role of Rubab in the current hit serial 'Kabhi Main Kabhi Tum', talked about the colorism issue in the Pakistani entertainment industry.
She appeared as a guest on the podcast show 'Something Haute' and spoke about her interest in art and how she has reached television after exploring several avenues. She lives between Pakistan and New York City and she is picking up projects that make sense to her and will become a legacy for her work.
During the conversation with the host, she revealed that a fellow actor in the very beginning advised her to color her whole body with a makeup foundation to look white as 'only white girls get lead roles' in Pakistani dramas.
It was shocking for her to hear but then that person showed her pictures of actresses who are doing this and painted themselves from head to toe.
Rejecting these harmful practices, she said she does not care about such practices and she is comfortable in her own skin.
