The National Electric Power Regulatory Authority (NEPRA) has approved Rs0.86 cut in per unit price in August’s fuel charges adjustment (FCA) for electricity consumers, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.

During a public hearing on the matter, NEPRA decided to cut the price, which is higher than Rs0.57 per unit decrease initially requested by the Central Power Purchasing Agency. The hearing took place on September 26, 2024.

NEPRA stated that this adjustment is Rs0.49 per unit less than the FCA charged in July, offering consumers a big relief in their October bills. Consumers who have already received their bills will receive this relief in November. The adjustment will be applicable to all consumers of distribution companies (DISCOs), except for lifeline users, prepaid consumers, electric vehicle charging stations. K-Electric customers could be able to benefit from this reduction in per unit price.
