PNSC gets new chairman ahead of $100m ships deal

Chairman of the Pakistan National Shipping Corporation (PNSC) Shakeel Ahmed Mangnejo (PAS) has been transferred and posted at EOBI Karachi just before the buying plan of the three ships worth $100m, reported 24NewHD TV channel.

Sources said that Ministry of Maritime Affairs Secretary Rizwan Ahmed will be made interim chairman of PNSC. Rizwan Ahmed has also previously served as chairman of PNSC

Sources claimed that Rizwan Ahmed had also the additional charge of chairman PNSC when two ships were bought two years ago.  

Sources also said that the sudden change of command in PNSC ahead of the $100m questions raised.  

As per the PNSC website, Shakeel Ahmed Mangnejo is an officer of the Pakistan Administrative Service. He joined Civil Services in 1996. Prior to posting as Chairman of, Pakistan National Shipping Corporation, he has served as Director-General, Ports, and Shipping, Ministry of Maritime Affairs.

Shakeel Ahmed Mangnejo has served on the boards of National Investment Trust, Pakistan Industrial Development Corporation, Pakistan Steel Fabricating Company, PRIMACO and Sahara Insurance Co. (subsidiary of EOBI). He is also currently serving on the Board of Gwadar Port Authority and Karachi Port Trust.
