Adeela Baloch, a would-be suicide bomber, who had been taken into custody from Turbat city of district Kech in Balochistan, said on Wednesday that Baloch people are being blackmailed into committing terrorism.
A teary-eyed Adeela Baloch said she was a nurse by profession and her job was to save people’s lives, but was brainwashed by Baloch militants to do the opposite of that and become a murderer.
Addressing a press conference along with her parents in Quetta, Adeela Baloch said she was not the only one who had been led astray by these people. “There are scores of others who have gone off the track,” she added.
With tears in her eyes, Adeela said she was brainwashed in such a way that she completely stopped using her brain and got ready to become a suicide bomber. “The militants told me that if I would join them, I had a bright future ahead of me. I joined them in the mountains without telling my family. I did not think even for a moment that several innocent people would lose their lives because of my actions. Neither I realized that suicide bombing is forbidden in Islam and is haram.”
But later, Adeela said, she realized how tough life was there up on the mountains.
It was unfortunate, she went on to say, that she was trapped by Baloch militants. “I am an eyewitness to how these people blackmail women to make them commit acts of terrorism.”
She dispelled the impression that Baloch people carried out acts of terrorism on their own. “There is no truth in it,” she said emphatically.
Adeela said that for the Baloch youth, she had a message and that was not to make the mistake she had made. “Such acts do no good to the people of Balochistan. Freedom is not won through such tactics,” she opined.
What could be termed a big development that took place a few hours before Adeela’s presser, the law-enforcement agencies arrested her from Turbat

Adeela Baloch thanked the Balochistan government for rescuing her from the hands of terrorist elements. She said that she is a qualified nurse, but unfortunately, she came into contact with such elements who tempted her to carry out a suicide attack.
Adeela Baloch said that she realized her mistake when she was taken to the mountains, where the conditions were very tough. She said that she saw the youth there who were also allured by the terrorists.
Adeela Baloch dispelled the impression that Baloch women carry out suicide attacks of their own free will. She stated that terrorist elements blackmail and lure them, emphasizing that she was also drawn in a way that she could not understand.
She expressed satisfaction that she survived and escaped from the evil intentions of the terrorists.
Adeela Baloch advised Baloch youth not to fall into the traps of such elements, saying that they use individuals for their own designs.
