Amid heatwave across the country, Met office has predicted rain in various areas of the country from Thursday, reported 24 NewsHD TV channel.
Provincial Disaster Management Authority (PDMA) of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa has issued an alert about rains with thunderstorms and gusty winds in most parts of the province from Thursday till Tuesday.
The Met office says Westerly winds will enter the upper regions of the country from September 26 and as a result, federal capital Islamabad is expected to receive rain on September 26 and 27.
During the same period, rain is also expected in Chitral, Swat, Kohistan, Butgram, Mansehra, Abbottabad, Peshawar, Nowshera, Mardan while from September 27 to October 1, there is a possibility of rain in various areas of Punjab including Rawalpindi, Murri Guliyat, Tala Gang, Jhelum Mandi, Bahauddin and Gujranwala region. Resultantly rain will reduce the temperature considerably.
Meanwhile PDMA has warned all Deputy Commissioners across Khyber Pakhtunkhwa to ensure precautionary measures to avoid any human and material losses as landslide and urban flooding is also expected during the rains.
