Rain lashes Lahore, parts of Punjab, KP, AJK and Balochistan

Met Office forecast more rains, thunderstorms in various parts of country during the next 48 hours

Heavy rain and sporadic thunderstorms lashed Lahore and its outskirts on Friday, which turned the weather pleasant while the downpour was also reported in various parts of Punjab, KP, Balochistan, Gilgit Baltistan and Azad Kashmir, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.

The Met Office forecast more rainfall in various parts of the country during the next 24 hours.

Rain was reported on Friday afternoon from different parts of Lahore, including Thokar Niaz Beg, Allama Iqbal Town, Township, Faisal Town, Garden Town, Awan Town, Canal Road, Dharampura, Mughalpura, Samanabad, Ichhra, Gulberg, Walled City, other parts of northern Lahore.

The power outage was also reported from different areas in the city. Met Office informed that westerly waves have entered the western parts of the country and gripped most upper parts of the country.

Under the influence of this weather system rain-wind/thunderstorm was reported in Naushki, Pishin, Harnai, Zhob, Barkhan, Gwadar, Kech, Awaran, Chagi, Kharan, Kalat, Mastung, Jhal Magsi, Naseerabad, Sibbi, Kohlu, Dera Bugti, Loralai, Qilla Saifullah, Qila Abdullah, Quetta, Ziarat, Shirani and Musa Khel.

Moreover, during the next 24 hours, rain-windstorm/thunderstorm was expected in Chitral, Dir, Swat, Abbottabad, Mansehra, Haripur, Kohistan, Shangla, Buner, Malakand, Waziristan, Kohat, Lakki Marwat, Bannu, Dera Ismail Khan, Bajaur, Mohmand, Karak, Khyber, Peshawar, Charsadda, Nowshera, Swabi, Mardan and Kurram.

Rain and thunderstorm were also expected in Gilgit-Baltistan’s Diamir, Astore, Ghizer, Skardu, Hunza, Gilgit, Ghanche, Shigar and in Kashmir’s Neelum valley, Muzaffarabad, Rawalakot, Poonch, Hattian, Bagh, Haveli, Sudhanoti, Kotli, Bhimber, Mirpur) from Friday to 29 April.

The Met Office further said that more rain and thunderstorm is likely in Murree, Galliyat, Islamabad/Rawalpindi, Attock, Chakwal, Jhelum, Mandi Bahauddin, Gujrat, Gujranwala, Hafizabad, Sialkot, Narowal, Lahore, Kasur, Okara, Faisalabad, Toba Tek Singh, Jhang, Khushab, Sargodha, Mianwali, Pakpattan and Sahiwal from Friday till Monday morning.

Rain and thunderstorms were also expected in Dera Ghazi Khan, Rajanpur, Bhakkar, Layyah, Multan, Kot Addu, Muzaffargarh, Rahim Yar Khan, Sadiqabad, Khanpur, Bahawalpur and Bahawalnagar during the next 28 to 48 hours. Dust-thunderstorm/light rain is expected in Sukkur, Jacobabad, Kashmore, Larkana, Dadu, Qambar Shahdad Kot, Jamshoro and Sanghar during the next 24 hours.
