The federal cabinet that met with PM Imran Khan in the chaired on Tuesday mulled means to get former premier Nawaz Sharif back from the UK, 24NewsHD reports.

According to insiders, the cabinet took two options under consideration  – writing a letter to the UK authorities and approaching the Lahore High Court against Opposition Leader in National Assembly Shehbaz Sharif.

The government had informed the UK authorities about Nawaz’s return matter in March, sources said, adding that March’s message to the UK would be referred in the fresh letter.

They added that the federal government in collaboration with the Punjab government would approach the court against Shehbaz who was the ‘guarantor’ when Nawaz was let go abroad.

“Shehbaz is doing politics here and his elder brother on the prowl in London,” Imran said and assigned Adviser on Accountability and Interior Shahzad Akbar and Federal Law Minister Barrister Farogh with the task and report in two days.

Imran geared up the drive for bringing Nawaz back during a part meeting on August 21 when he reiterated his ‘no-to-NRO’ resolve, saying the National Reconciliation Ordinance-like deal with the opposition is repugnant to the PTI's political philosophy.

“We have no right to govern if we enter into an NRO,” he said, adding the opposition will keep quiet for three years if the government offers them an NRO.

He added: “We must step down and say goodbye to politics if we do so. Such a dialogue with the opposition is out of question. How can we let looters of national exchequer walk free?”
