Popular fashion designer Asim Jofa has slammed the Sindh government as three-day monsoon rains in Karachi have killed at least 90 people and damaged thousands of homes including his own.

Taking to Twitter, the designer uploaded a video in which it could be seen that his house was full of rainwater.

He uploaded the video and wrote: “Government should declare a state of emergency in Karachi and other low-lying areas. This is block 6 P.E.C.H.S #KarachiRain”

In another tweet, he wrote: “Every year the rain shows us that Karachi needs better infrastructure planning.... even hospitals such as Aga Khan are suffering... God help us all! #KarachiRain”

Monsoon rains are lashing Pakistan at a time when authorities are trying to contain the spread of the coronavirus, which caused more than 6,200 deaths since February when the country reported its first case.
