Days after launching the third parliamentary year calendar of the National Assembly, the government failed to run the assembly proceedings as per the parliamentary calendar, reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Wednesday.
As per the parliamentary year calendar, the third year of the parliament will consist of 133 days. However, during the first session of the National Assembly, which was supposed to be held from August 21 to August 28, was adjourned till further notice on August 25. It means the session was adjourned three days before the actual date of adjournment as per the government’s launched parliamentary calendar.
It is pertinent to note that Adviser to Prime Minister on Parliamentary Affairs Dr Babar Awan on August 20 called on Prime Minister Imran Khan and presented him the calendar of the third parliamentary year. The premier and his adviser also discussed the constitutional, political and legal matters, the TV channel reported.
