Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif Sunday chaired a review meeting regarding the dissolution of the Public Works Department (Pak PWD), reported 24NewsHD TV channel.
The meeting focused on the final stages and legal aspects of the department's dissolution.
During the session, the Prime Minister emphasized that the financial packages offered to outgoing employees due to the dissolution of Pak PWD would not be extended to those accused of serious corruption. He directed that a comprehensive plan for transferring ongoing projects under Pak PWD to the provinces and relevant institutions be submitted as soon as possible.
The Prime Minister further instructed that all final proposals concerning the dissolution of Pak PWD should be presented to the Cabinet. Additionally, he endorsed the implementation of an age relaxation proposal to allow the re-employment of hardworking and honest individuals with a short tenure at Pak PWD.
Federal Minister for Economic Affairs Ahad Khan Cheema, Finance Minister Muhammad Aurangzeb, Planning Minister Ahsan Iqbal, Housing and Works Minister Riaz Hussain Pirzada, and senior officials from related institutions attended the meeting.
