Pakistan Peoples Party Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari has said that there are many problems but there is also a solution to every problem and we have to wage a joint struggle to come out of these problems, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.
Speaking at a ceremony of Bakhtawar Cadet College in Nawabshah on Monday, PPP Chairman Bilawal Bhutto said that Shaheed Benazir Bhutto saw a dream for women and the students of Cadet College are fulfilling the dream of Shaheed Benazir Bhutto.
“Old politicians whom you watch on your TV sets, they belong to the past. You are country’s future, we will work together, contribute to the development of the country,” the young PPP scion said.
He said there are four major problems we are facing nowadays, they are economic problem, adverse effects of floods, threat to Pakistan due to climate change and population explosion.
“Problems are so many but there is solution to every problem, we have to fight historical inflation, poverty and unemployment,” he maintained.
He said that Quaid-e-Awam Zulfikar Ali Bhutto gave us the manifesto of Roti, Kapra Aur Makan (bread, cloth and home), currently we need them the most.
He said country’s economic situation is extremely grave promising a public friendly manifesto of his party.
He made social security promises ahead of general elections slated to be held on February 8, 2024.
He said Pakistan is the fifth most populated country in the world. 70% of the country's population comprises youth and the young people have the right to be provided with the best opportunities for employment and education.
He promised that the Education Card for youth would be issued by the PPP.
He further said that financial assistance would be provided for one year to the youth who complete their education. A youth center will be established where all the facilities and skill training will be imparted to the young people, he pledged.
He said that his party would also issue Help Cards for laborers, farmers and toiling women.
He maintained that that the PPP has provided free facilities in health sector.
Free medical facilities are being provided in Nawabshah with the support of NICVD, Gambit and SIUT, he added.
Bilawal said that they would promote solar energy. We will provide 300 units free of cost to every family through green energy. We will build green and solar energy parks and generate our own electricity. We will not need to buy expensive electricity and pay heavy bills, he added.
The PPP chairman said that people must be thinking that he is making big claims, how would they be fulfilled. He said that bureaucrats in Islamabad say there are no funds for these projects.
“I will tell you from where the money will come. After the 18th Amendment, 17 ministries were supposed to be abolished, but they were not abolished. Annually, Rs100 billion are being spent on these 17 ministries. Rs300 billion are being spent annually in the form of subsidy. All this money should be spent on the public by eliminating all these ministries.”
He said that students of the Bakhtawar Cadet College for Women are fulfilling the dream which Mohtarma Shaheed Benazir Bhutto saw for them.
“God willing, we will work together and contribute our full share in the reconstruction of the country,” the PPP leader expressed his resolve.
