Russian Ambassador to Pakistan Albert P Khorev on Thursday spelled out his country’s conditions for talks with Ukraine.

Speaking to reporters at the Russian Embassy in Islamabad, Khorev said that Russia could hold talks with Ukraine if the latter withdraws its troops from the Russian territories and abandons its plans to join the North Atlantic Treaty Organisation (NATO). He said the West had supplied $350 billion weapons for war against Russia and the supply of these weapons to Ukraine was increasing with every passing day.

He said the West had supplied $350 billion weapons for war against Russia and the supply of these weapons to Ukraine was increasing with every passing day. He said that an extremist nationalist government was installed in Ukraine after an armed rebellion backed by the West and the United States in 2014. He said this move was meant to destroy the centuries old historical, economic and religious relations between Russia and Ukraine.

He said this new Ukrainian government targeted people of Russian ethnicity in different areas. He said the West also planned to take Ukraine into NATO’s fold after installation of the new government in Kiev because NATO was planning a large-scale war against Russia. He said that now the West was equipping Ukraine with more destructive weapons. He said the United States was supplying Ukraine banned mines and many countries were giving Ukraine financial aid.

He said the Ukrainian Army lost the war to the Russian Army that’s why it was now killing Russian people like terrorists. He said that Russia wants peaceful resolution of all issues and it commends every country, which is working for peace in the region. He said that disputes could not be resolved without addressing their causes. He said that Russia considers Ukraine’s alliance with NATO a threat to its security.
