Chief Traffic Officer Syed Hammad Abid has told his team to treat senior citizens and women with special care, a handout said on Tuesday.
“They deserve respect and needn’t queue up or wait for their turn,” the CTO told the DSP (HQ) during a visit to Shaheed Mobin Police Lines in Manawan.
He took round of driving centre, motor transport section, wardens hostel, canteen, fitness gym and quarter guard. Syed Hammad scanned data and inspected vehicles.
The top traffic cop also ordered proper seating arrangements for the visitors and told officials to take care of them.
Traffic Police Public Relations Officer Arif Ali Rana said the one-day condition for women visitors has been abolished.
“Now they can visit any of the working days. Previously just Friday was allocated for women visitors,” he added.
Tree plantation drive
The city traffic police formally joined the ongoing spring tree plantation campaign.
“Protecting environment is our duty. We should team up against rising pollution and add beauty to our homeland,” Syed Hammad said on the inauguration of the tree plantation campaign.
