Parveen Rind, a final year MBBS student at People’s University of Medical and Health Sciences (Nawabshah), who brought the incidents of sexual harassment at the university’s hostel to the fore, arrived on Saturday at the shrine of Sufi saint Shah Abdul Latif Bhittai, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.
The girl, on the occasion, demanded that PPP Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari and Sindh Chief Minister Murad Ali Shah take notice of the harassment of girls and order action against all those accused who had made universities in the province unsafe for the girls.
Parveen pointed out that girls came to universities to get education, not to commit suicide.
“Girls at the universities in Sindh are forced to get involved in objectionable acts and murdered on refusal,” she maintained.
“Nosheen, Nimarta and Naila Rind never committed suicide. They had been murdered in fact,” she asserted.
“I also survived a murder attempt on February 9 last when three girls came to my hostel room and tried to strangle me. But I saved my life by fleeing away,” she said and added that she had informed the authorities concerned about the incident but to no avail.
