It appears that the PTI’s ‘Jail Bharo’ movement is losing its momentum, at least in Hafizabad, where the party is split on whether to surrender to police or not, reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Sunday.
Only dozen PTI workers gathered in the city to turn themselves into police.
Former members of Punjab Assembly (MPAs), belonging to the party, have simply vanished, while member of the National Assembly (MNA) Shaukat Bhatti, too, is in no mood to surrender himself to police either. However, he has said that the PTI Hafizabad president and general secretary will surrender to the police. “Our workers are going to Gujranwala for the purpose,” he said.
In Gujranwala, too, PTI workers and ticketholders are looking for excuses to evade arrests.
Ali Ashraf Mughal, ticketholder for NA-78, has said he is sick; so, therefore, he cannot go to jail.
However, sources in his family have confirmed that Mughal has not been feeling well since last night.
Similarly, in Gujrat, the city of PTI Central President Chaudhry Pervaiz Elahi, the party workers are not so enthusiastic about the ‘Jail Bharo’ movement, and some of them have even disappeared.
However, some PTI workers, led by former MPA Salim Sarwar Jorra, are heading to Gujranwala to turn themselves into police.
