Problems come in loads for Karachi as the citizens of the megacity which has already become a political battleground among the rival parties would not be able to satisfactorily quench their thirst as the K4 water project again hit snags, reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Tuesday.

As the Ministry of Water and Power forwarded the K4 project’s timeline to the Planning Ministry, the bad news for the Karachiites is that they would not be able to get any water supply from the project even in the next three years.

Still there is a possibility that the work on the first phase of the project might start in November this year, but the supply of additional water to the city will take three years.

After Ecnenc’s approval, the consultant could be appointed by April this year who will submit project’s design, PC1 and bidding documents by July 2021.

Wapda then would have to complete the project’s civil work in 20 months by July 2021, which has already been facing delays since August 2018.

The mega power project was first proposed 18 years ago.
