Lawmakers at a parliamentary party meeting of the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) on Monday opposed the idea of bringing a no-confidence movement against Prime Minister Imran Khan after the upcoming Senate elections in the country.

According to the insiders who were present at the meeting, PML-N lawmakers said that bringing a no-confidence movement against the prime minister after the Senate election would be against the party’s stance. They said their party did nothing when it had the required numbers in the parliament therefore it would not do anything now when it has already lost the numbers.

The opposition lawmakers said they would not become part of any plan to seek help from the undemocratic forces against the government. On this occasion, PML-N leaders paid a tribute to their party’s Vice President Maryam Nawaz for bravely leading the anti-government movement. They condemned Fayaz Shah’s remarks. They said they were sticking to the party’s stance despite the odds.
