The interim cabinet of caretaker Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) Chief Minister Azam Khan will take the oath today, reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Thursday.
As per the official sources, the caretaker chief minister has completed consultation in this regard.
Fifteen ministers and three advisers will be part of the caretaker chief minister’s cabinet.
Manzoor Afridi, Haji Ghufran, Khushdil Khan, Hamid Shah, Sawal Nazir Advocate, and Fazal Elahi will be part of the interim cabinet.
Adnan Jalil, Bakht Nawaz Khan, Shahid Khattak, Taj Muhammad Afridi, Muhammad Ali Shah, Justice (retd) Irshad Qaiser, and Dr Riaz Anwar will also be part of the caretaker cabinet.
Rehmat Salim Khattak, Shakirullah and Himayatullah Khan will be included in the caretaker cabinet as advisers.
Shakirullah is son of Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) leader Najmuddin.
The provincial cabinet will be sworn in at the Governor’s House at 3 o'clock this afternoon.
Earlier, KP Governor Haji Ghulam Ali and Caretaker Chief Minister Azam Khan held consultations over the makeup of the interim cabinet.
The final decision about the cabinet was delayed earlier due to the differences between PTI and the Opposition over distribution of ministries.
The KP governor and caretaker CM held five-hour-long meeting deliberating on the interim provincial cabinet.
Sources in Governor House divulged to the TV channel that preparations for the oath-taking of the cabinet were underway.
On Saturday last, former bureaucrat Mohammad Azam Khan had taken oath as the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa caretaker chief minister at a ceremony held in Peshawar.
KP Governor Haji Ghulam Ali had administered oath to Azam Khan, whose name for the provincial caretaker role was finalised after consultation between outgoing chief minister Mahmood Khan and Leader of the Opposition Akram Khan Durrani.
Earlier the same day, Governor Ghulam Ali had formally appointed Azam Khan as the caretaker chief minister of the province in the interim set-up.
In a notification issued on Saturday last, the governor designated Azam Khan for the role under Clause 1a of Section 124 of the Constitution, which states that if the provincial legislature is dissolved under Article 58 or Article 112, “a caretaker chief minister shall be appointed by the governor in consultation with the chief minister and the leader of the opposition in the outgoing provincial assembly”.
