Minister of State for Petroleum Musadik Malik said Thursday that agreements had been reached with Russia for the purchase of cheap oil, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.
“We had said that we will bring cheap oil to the country. Someone encouraged us; someone laughed,” Musadik Malik remarked while addressing a press conference in Islamabad.
“For the next winter, we will make an agreement with Russia for gas,” he added.
The state minister also stated that long-term agreements would be made with Russia in the future.
He also informed the media that Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif had directed to find cheap resources of energy.
