The Sindh High Court (SHC) has adjourned the hearing on actresses Kubra Khan and Mehwish Hayat’s pleas in defamation case against Adil Raja for running a malicious campaign against them till 24th February, reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Thursday.
The court held the hearing of Kubra Khan and Mehwish Hayat’s applications and Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA), federal government, and Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) submitted their replies.
Justice Nainmatullah Phulpoto asked the investigating officer, “The court had directed to remove the material on the last hearing. Was the content removed?”
The Public Prosecutor replied, Mehwish Hayat's statement was recorded while Kubra Khan's statement has not yet been taken.
The PTA has been instructed to remove the content and some related content has been taken off while remaining will be removed soon, said the Investigating officer FIA Cybercrime.
PTA informed the court that the relevant authorities had been contacted regarding the removal of the content abroad.
The Investigating Officer stated that FIA started investigation by issuing complaint numbers. The content will soon be taken down and an investigation will be conducted.
Following that, the court sought progress report from PTA, Federal Government, and FIA and adjourned the hearing of the case till February 24.
Pertinent to note that Mehwish Hayat, Kubra Khan approached the court against Adil Raja's malicious fabricated and frivolous allegations.
