Punjab Chief Minister Syed Mohsin Raza Naqvi has taken another major decision and announced closure of four offices under the use of the CM, reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Thursday, quoting sources.
Mohsin Naqvi declared that he would not use CM offices located at 90-Shahrah Quaid-i-Azam, Civil Secretariat, Punjab Assembly and Arfa Kareem Technology Park.
The staff deputed at these four offices will now be spared for performing other government affairs, the CM said and added working in four offices by the provincial chief executive tantamount to wasting resources and a country like Pakistan cannot afford such lavish spending.
The chief minister further remarked that they have to bring the government expenditure under control and save resources.
According to sources, Mohsin Naqvi, however, has made it clear that no government employee will be shown the door.
CM condemns desecration of Holy Quran in Sweden
Mohsin Naqvi has strongly condemned the incident of desecration of the Holy Quran in Swedish capital Stockholm.
He said, “The religious sentiments of Muslims have been badly hurt by the desecration of the Holy Quran and he termed this abhorrent act a ‘well-hatched conspiracy’ proving that Islamophobia is real phenomenon.”
He expressed deep concerns over the growing wave of Islamophobia in Europe and said that such incidents have damaged the efforts of religious tolerance and peaceful coexistence.
He added that such despicable and abhorrent incidents cannot be tolerated in the guise of freedom of speech. He urged United Nations to take immediate action against offender for inciting hate.
