The Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) has failed to finalize the polling scheme, raising concerns about the timely conduct of elections, reported the 24NewsHD TV channel.

According to sources, the final polling scheme for all four provinces and Islamabad was due by January 24 as scheduled by the ECP.

Despite the passing of two days beyond the deadline, the ECP was unable to release the final polling scheme, prompting questions about its ability to adhere to its electoral timetable.

The ECP spokesperson refrained from commenting on the failure to deliver the final polling scheme, a crucial document that outlines details such as the establishment of polling stations, their locations, and the expected number of voters at each station.

“The polling scheme encompasses comprehensive details, including the allocation of polling booths within each polling station,” the sources added.

As uncertainty looms over the duration of the delay and when the final polling scheme will be issued, concerns regarding the efficiency and preparedness of the Election Commission continue to escalate.

The sources further added that the failure to finalize the polling scheme not only delays the electoral process but also undermines public trust in the transparency and effectiveness of the electoral system.

They said that the ECP faces mounting pressure to address the situation promptly and ensure a smooth electoral process in the upcoming elections.

With the clock ticking, stakeholders eagerly await updates from the Election Commission regarding the resolution of the issue and the subsequent steps to ensure the timely conduct of elections.
