Tremendous increase in cotton prices has been witnessed during the last few days despite the damage caused by rains to many cotton zones, reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Tuesday.
The price of cotton has upped by Rs2,000 per maund in the country in the last four days, while in Sindh, after recent increase, the price has reached Rs17,000 per maund.
On the other hand, majority of cotton zones have been badly hit by recent heavy monsoon rains.
