Over 100 cattle have died as lumpy skin disease has wreaked havoc in several villages of Hafizabad, while more fatalities are feared, reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Tuesday.

Dozens of cattle have died only in Murr Bashi village of the central Punjab district.

And to rub salt into the wounds of the villagers, who have already suffered a colossal loss, the livestock department officials are tightlipped despite the fact that they have been informed about the disease number of times.

Alarmed at the spread of the disease, people have appealed to the authorities to take steps to control it.
