Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) South Punjab chapter Senior Vice President Sumaira Malik Tuesday announced quitting her party over the issue of violence on May 9.
According to the 24News HD TV channel, the PTI leader from the South Punjab region released her recorded video message on social media about the decision to leave the party.
In the video message, Sumaira Malik condemned the May 9 incidents and desecrations of the memorandums of martyrs of the Pak Army.
She said it was the duty of everyone to pay respect to the martyrs and the events of violence on May 9 was an unfortunate incident on which she separates her ways from the PTI.
Samaira Malik has served as the spokesperson of the Punjab government during former Chief Minister Usman Buzdar's rule.
It is also worth mentioning that some days ago, a graft case against her was filed by the anti-corruption agency.
