Punjab Chief Minister Mohsen Naqvi has ordered to suspend Director Finance of Services Hospital over poor performance, reported 24News HD TV channel on Tuesday.

The Chief Minister suspended Director Finance after finding that he did not pay dues to the contractor of air conditioners for the last seven months.

The CM found that unpaid dues caused the closure of most of the air conditioners in various wards which troubled the patients.

During his three hours long visit to the hospital, the Chief Minister showed his anger over the hospital wards' bad conditions, poor cleaning system and smelling beds.

He also showed his displeasure over the dilapidated condition of operation theatres in the hospital and lake of other health facilities.

The Punjab chief minister also suspended the parking contract after receiving complaints of overcharging and ordered Lahore Parking Company to take over the parking system of the hospital.

He also ordered to change the old beds and mattresses in the wards.

He also ordered early payment to the AC contractor and said air conditioners in the wards should be made functional immediately while out-of-order AC units should be replaced.

He also announced the upgradation of the hospital and sought a master plan from Infrastructure Development Authority Punjab in this regard.

He also instructed the hospital management to provide the patients with quality treatment of patients.

He also instructed to perform a kidney transplant on young patient Talha who is under treatment in the dialysis unit and asked that he should be given a report on his treatment on a daily basis.

He said he would visit the hospital next week again and doesn't want to see these old and broken beds in future again.

He also ordered to make sure of the availability of all medicines in the medicine store.

The Punjab chief minister also inspected the new emergency and reviewed the construction work there.

He ordered to make the new emergency functional within seven days.

He showed his disappointment over the Services Hospital’s condition and said it was in the worst condition among all the hospitals he has visited so far.

He resolved to improve the condition of the hospital even if he had to visit the hospital daily.

“We will spend whatever time we have to make the hospital the best hospital,” said Mohsen Naqvi.

Provincial Minister Specialized Healthcare and Medical Education Dr Javed Akram, Secretary Health, MS Services Hospital Dr Munir Malik, Deputy Commissioner and related officials were also present.
