IHC issues notices on plea against Cynthia Ritchie

The Islamabad High Court (IHC) on Friday adjourned the hearing of a petition seeking deportation of American national Cynthia D Ritchie after issuing notices to the respondents, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.

The court put off the hearing till July 3 and issued notices to federal government, interior ministry, Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) and Securities and Exchange Commission of Pakistan (SECP).

IHC Chief Justice Athar Minallah chaired conducted the hearing.

The applicant’s counsel argued that Cynthia Ritchie must be deported as her visa has expired. Upon which, Justice Athar Minallah asked him how he learnt about her visa had expired.

The counsel informed the court that Cynthia Ritchie in her tweets had herself admitted that her visa had lapsed. He also informed the court that she told the FIA that she is doing some business in collaboration with Motorway.

The court then adjourned the hearing till July 3 after issuing the notices.
