A delegation of the Deans Committee of Fatima Jinnah Medical University met with Punjab Governor Sardar Saleem Haider Khan under the leadership of Vice Chancellor Professor Dr. Khalid Masood Gondal.
The delegation included Pro Vice-Chancellor Professor Kamran Khalid Khawaja, Chairperson Gynecology Department Professor Ayesha Malik, Principal Fatima Jinnah Medical College Professor Noreen Akmal, Chairperson Medicine Department Professor Dr. Prof. Naveed Akbar Hotyana and Dr. Taksin Zehra were included.
Prof. Dr. Balqis Shabbir discussed the national and international contributions of Fatima Jinnah Medical University, especially the relief activities in the flood-affected areas of 2022, the recent ranking of Fatima Jinnah Medical University, the achievements of Fatima Jinnah Medical University, the best university teacher award, civil award 2023.
A detailed briefing was given on the Nursing Program, Business Incubation Center, prominent services in the Corona epidemic and exemplary services in telemedicine.
Vice-Chancellor Professor Dr. Khalid Masood Gondal said that new post-graduate specialties in various fields including four new sub-specialties in Gynecology Department are going to be started soon.
Punjab Governor Sardar Saleem Haider Khan said that under the leadership of Vice Chancellor Professor Dr. Khalid Masood Gondal, Fatima Jinnah Medical University is doing excellent work. It is very important to provide health facilities in remote areas.
Punjab Governor appreciated the post graduate training program of Fatima Jinnah Medical University at district level. He further said that research and innovation are very important in the field of medicine. It is a pleasure to know that Fatima Jinnah Medical University is showing outstanding performance in teaching and research.
Vice-Chancellor Prof. Dr. Khalid Masood Gondal presented the history book and annual report of the University to the Governor of Punjab and also invited him to the convocation.
