The Punjab government has announced a new policy for all government schools. According to the latest announcement, Saturday will be a holiday, reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Tuesday.
As per details, Provincial Education Minister Rana Sikandar Hayat announced two days off (Saturday and Sunday) in government schools across Punjab, while students will take classes five days a week (Monday to Friday).
The Education Minister asked teachers about extending daily teaching hours from Monday to Friday and utilizing Saturday for teachers' training.
Following the education minister’s instructions, teachers said having two days off in a week will facilitate capacity building and lesson planning.
“Teachers are already performing other services along with education”, said Rana Sikandar Hayat
