Punjab authorities ending the deadlock with the sugar mills have now decided to provide sugar per kg on Rs9 subsided price at the Ramazan bazaars, reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Saturday.
The food department and industries department sat with the representatives of the sugar mills associations and ended the deadlock on the subsidy price.
Both departments have assigned the deputy commissioners of the respective districts to provide subsidized sugar on the subsidized rates in Ramazan bazaars.
Sugar mills associations will provide subsidized sugar per kg in the Ramazan bazaar at Rs80per kg in comparison to the Rs89 per kg in the open market.
As per the notification issued by the industries department, the sugar mills association will provide sugar at Rs75 per kg to the Ramazan bazaars, however, sugar per kg will be available to the public at Rs80 as Rs5 per kg will be charged by the authorities for the supply transportation cost.
