The Punjab Board Committee of Chairmen has formally approved the 10-point grading system for matriculation and intermediate examinations, reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Wednesday.

Under the said system, the performance of students will be evaluated on the basis of grades and grade points GPA instead of marks.

Unsatisfactory grade will be used instead of fail and passing marks will be increased from 33 percent to 40 percent.

In the first phase, grades will be given to students of classes 9 and 11 instead of marks from the year 2026.

In the second phase, this system will also be implemented in classes 10 and 12 from the year 2027.

Board officials said the aim of this change is to remove students from the race of marks and improve their academic performance.
