Prime Minister Imran Khan has boasted of his government’s achievements in a series of tweets on Wednesday with the focus on the anti-corruption campaigns, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.
In the tweets, Imran Khan said the difference in the performance of the Punjab’s Anti-Corruption Department during the PTI government and the 10 years of the PML-N rule is quite visible as far as the results were concerned.
The prime minister elaborated that during the last 31 months of the PTI government, Punjab Anti-Corruption Department had recovered Rs220 billion in sharp contrast to the dismal record of last PML-N’s government’s 10 years.
He further said that state land worth Rs192 billion had been recovered as compared to the state land worth Rs2.6 billion recovery made during the PML-N’s 10 years.
Imran Khan said the cash recovery was Rs2.35 billion during the PTI government as compared to only Rs430 million during the PML-N's last ruling decade. Indirect cash recovery now stood at Rs26 billion in contrast to zero during PML-N's last 10 years, he added.
The prime minister maintained that the same contrast was there in the performance of the National Accountability Bureau (NAB).
He said between 2018 and 2020 of the PTI government’s tenure the NAB had recovered Rs484 billion in contrast to only Rs290 billion recovered from 1999 to 2017.
Imran Khan observed that such results are achieved when the government does not protect criminals and allows accountability to work without interference.
