The fire engulfed part of the China Chowk metro station.
The government deployed Rangers in Rawalpindi and Islamabad to maintain peace during the PTI march.
The authorities had earlier suspended the metro bus service to avert damage.

Eight police and 7 Rangers sustained injuries as the violent protester pelted the lawmen with stones.
