Frenchman Giovanni Mpetshi Perricard secured his maiden ATP Tour title on Saturday with a tense victory over Tomas Martin Etcheverry in the Lyon final.
Perricard failed to serve out for the title late in the third set, but wrapped up a 6-4, 1-6, 7-6 (9/7) win on his second match point.
The 20-year-old, ranked 117th in the world, is in the main draw for the French Open, which starts on Sunday, as a wildcard and faces David Goffin in the opening round.
