The University of Karachi on Saturday cancelled the admission of a student who had removed a ‘dupatta’ from a female class fellow’s head, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.
According to Adviser on Students’ Affairs Nausheen Raza, the incident took place during an exam at the School of Law on Friday.
“The student removed a dupatta from the female student’s head and then tried to run away. But the staff present at the examination hall grabbed him,” she elaborated.
Nausheen said the decision to expel the student was taken at the university’s disciplinary committee meeting, which was attended among others by the university’s acting Sheikh Justice retired Hasan Feroz.
The adviser informed that on the instructions of the acting Sheikh, the university’s registrar would issue a notification for the expulsion of the student.
